Girls' Day!

Girls' Day is celebrated in Hawaii on March 3rd. We’re a little past that date, but I wanted everyone to know what a fun time it is when Hawaiians celebrate this Japanese holiday.

I remember the guys in my dorm bringing us girls a guava cake on March 3rd. What a fun time it was!

Last year I did a post on Girl’s Day, which will give you more information on the types of celebrations. Click here:

Aloha, and Mahalo for visiting!

    1. Cool, huh, Loree! We need to get more creative on the mainland and find some fun things to create celebrations around.

Hey--you can be the first to establish a "All Females Day" which would include girls and women--cool, huh?

  3. Cheryl, I found I commented directly after you on a couple of blogs that I visited today. "Following the leader!" I had to stop by and say hi!

    Beautiful website.

Hawaii has always been my top wish to visit. Particularly Maui and because of a book I read when I was in high school called "Silversword." I hope to actually get there some day!

    1. Thanks, Marji, for visiting and for your sweet comments about my website!

Obviously I LOVE Hawaii, but I've been back only once since I lived there a long, long time ago. Our family took a cruise in 2007. It was so much fun and we got to stop at all the main islands.

Hope to see you again in "the blogs!"

  4. Girl's day? That's pretty interesting! Do they have a boys day too?

    1. Yes, Jessica! There is a boys' day--another Japanese holiday celebrated in Hawaii. In Japan, however, they only celebrate children's day instead of both girls' and boys' day. Boys' Day is May 5. Thanks for your support, Jessica!
