Did Someone Say Recipe??

I know . . . I know . . . I haven't posted a new recipe in a very long time!

But maybe some of you are new to my blog and would like to know what kinds of recipes I've posted, so I'm going to send you to my recipe page so you, too, can read up and enjoy some of these amazing recipes!

I can tell you that the most popular one is Kalua Pig. In book one of The Hawaiian Island Detective Club, Pineapples in Peril, Leilani and her family attend a church potluck where they are cooking the pig in an imu-a Hawaiian oven which is actually a big hole dug into the ground and kept hot with hot rocks.

Leilani's mom, Luana, baked a Guava Cake for the potluck. You can also find that recipe on my recipe page!

One of the easiest recipes is Almond Pudding which is a white, almond flavored gelatin topped with mandarin oranges. I've made this one since I lived in Hawaii--refreshing and delicious!

Take a moment to visit my Recipe Page. Just click on the recipe that interests you and it will take you to the post with all the instructions and pictures. You'll love it!

Sunshine???

Salvatore Vuono

Sunshine in the Pacific Northwest is somewhat rare, but oh what a treat
when it does shine! What about Hawaii?

The warmest month of the year in Honolulu is August with an average high of 88.9 degrees. The coolest month is January with an average low of 65.4 degrees.

The warmest month of the year in Hilo (on the big island) is September with an average high of 83.4 degrees. The coolest month is February with a monthly average low of 63.5 degrees.

Where I live in Southwest Washington, the warmest month of the year is August with an average high of 82.5 degrees. Hmm . . . almost like living in Hilo! Our coolest month is January with an average low of 33.9 degrees. Not quite like Hawaii, huh?? Sigh . . .

Grab your sunglasses and come visit me in August!

What a BIG Boy!!!

I'm so excited to begin this new journey in my life--being a Tutu!!
