Hau'oli Makahiki Hou!!!
(Happy New Year!!!)
(Happy New Year!!!)
I have been very blessed this year, and I hope you have lots to be thankful for as well.
I will have a special place in my heart for 2011 as it was the year I was offered my first book contract! And it's a three book series! Book One, Pineapples in Peril of The Hawaiian Island Detective Club will hopefully release in the fall of 2012. The publisher doesn't have an exact date yet, but as soon as I know, I will post it on my website and in my blog.
My oldest son finally got a good, steady job this year after being unemployed and bouncing around in several seasonal positions. My youngest son also found a part-time job which allows him to pursue his artwork. He's hoping to be an artist for graphic novels.
My daughter and her husband moved in with us after three years at Penn State. He graduated 3rd in his class from law school and is now actively looking for a job with a firm in Portland.
I am so thankful to have all my kids nearby and that they are such wonderful kids!
During this past year I've been blessed to pray for many, many friends and peers who have been struggling with many difficulties. What an honor to pray with and for them.
Another major blessing--YOU!! All my readers have made my blog-writing this year a fun experience. Mahalo! I will continue to bring you interviews, recipes, and some fascinating history and culture of Hawaii twice a week again this year.
How have you been blessed in 2011 and what are your hopes for 2012?
Mahalo
for visiting!
Cheryl
Best Wishes for the New Year! Nice post.
ReplyDeleteI have been SO blessed this year, both personally, and in my writing...from winning lots of contests, getting several things published, to my first book publication. In 2012, I have another book coming out, which I have yet to write! So my most urgent goal is to get that baby finished by spring. Personally, my goal is to de-clutter -- both my home and my mind. I need to make more time to smell the roses, which I sometimes neglect to do because I'm too "busy." Time to get the priorities straight once and for all. I want to seek God more and learn how to still my mind long enough to listen for His voice.
ReplyDeleteIt was so great meeting you at the ACFW conference in St. Louis, Cheryl. Wishing you a very happy and abundantly blessed New Year!
This year has been a real blessing for us too. I look forward to 2012.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. I've enjoyed your posts on Hawaii.
Happy New Year!
Thanks, Rahul! And thanks for being one of my readers. Happy New Year and blessings to you in 2012.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Lynda, on your many publishing blessings this year! I loved your book, and look forward to book two! Like you, I hope to "de-clutter" both home and mind. Writing can sometimes consume you, huh? I'm working on a couple different books right now--concentrating on just one, but the other is only partially finished--what to do, what to do!!!???
ReplyDeleteGreat meeting you, too, Lynda, and I hope to see you again next year. Have a wonderfully blessed New Year!
Happy New Year to you and your family, Loree! Thanks so much for reading and commenting on my blog. It means so much to me. I really love writing about the islands. Here's to 2012, whatever it brings!
ReplyDeleteCheryl,
ReplyDeleteI find that I share many of Lynda's goals for 2012. I need to set priorities and instead of merely reacting to a head spinning with ideas, sit down and decide how and when I'm going to accomplish them. We're moving to another AF base in October (don't know where just yet), so this year will definitely be a challenge on the writing front, particularly with new little Molly in the house, but I know that with God, I'll be able accomplish far more than if I tried going it alone.
Happy New Year to all!
Blessings,
Deb
Ahh, yes, Deb! Having all kinds of family around can make life a bit complicated. We have my daughter and her husband living with us (since June.) It's been great--busy and fun and lots of laughter and games, but sometimes the work-load keeps me from writing as much as I'd like. I think I need to get a little more organized. :-)
