Slippers??

Don't you just love slipping your toes into flip-flops??

 If you're like me, you really, really do! In The Hawaiian Island Detective Club the kids wear flip-flops, but in Hawaii they're called slippers.

 So, how do I handle that in my books?? I do have a guide in front of each book that has pronunciation help as well as helpful information about things, places and foods. I explain there that the two terms are the same. Then, in the books I sometimes say slippers and sometimes say flip-flops!

 Enjoy this flip-flop time of year--hope you get to walk in sand and ocean waters very soon!
