You may dress up as a surfer or a hula dancer for Halloween, but in Lahaina on the island of Maui, they take their Halloween celebrations
and costumes seriously!

What are you going to be tonight? Are you taking kids to a Harvest
Party, or are you trick-or-treating? Or maybe you’re staying home and handing
out candy. We always took our kids to our church Harvest Party and visited family and
friends—lots of fun memories.
I’ll be handing out candy to the more than 100 kids who come by our
house.
Mahalo for visiting!
Cheryl
Oooh, have fun! I wish kids were in my neighborhood. I'd love to give them candy. I'll be taking the boys trick-or-treating tonight, but I don't dress up. :-)
ReplyDelete100 kids! Wow! We're going to Trunk or Treat, eat pizza with friends then trick or treat around the neighborhood. By the time we're done, most kids will be done and it'll be bedtime.
ReplyDeleteI'm going as Lois Lane. Your Halloween island style looks like great fun! Blocking off road? Big deal kind of stuff. Have a great time.
Have fun passing out candy, Cheryl! I'm going with my neighbor to help take her two boys trick or treating. I'm going as a pirate!
ReplyDeleteJessica, Jessica, and Brandi--thanks for your comments and sharing about your Halloween plans!
ReplyDeleteOur neighbor is joining us for pizza tonight and then we'll hand out candy together. My son-in-law just finished carving a pumpkin of ET. It looks amazing! I'm looking forward to seeing the kids tonight--they get soooo excited!
Jesse is 7 and wanted to go as...a peregrine falcon. You know. Because it's the fastest bird, and when you're 7 everything in life is superlative (fastest, tallest, biggest...). We settled for Batman. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe did Trunk or Treat at a local church. Jesse said, "The line to get in took longer than going through and getting the candy..." LOL He wasn't kidding. But it was fun! And hey, it was the first year EVER that we had snow in October in Maine... Crazy!
Oh my, Emily! Snow???? So, you're telling me you couldn't whip up a peregrine falcon costume for Jesse???
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing all the adorable little kids at my door. Had a great time and already looking forward to next year. Thanks for the visit, Emily!
