Mele Kalikimaka!!

Merry Christmas to You!!

Do you love this song as much as I do??

Let me help you sing and celebrate with these lyrics. Enjoy!

Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas day
That's the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway

Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright
The sun will shine by day and all the stars at night
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way
To say Merry Christmas to you

Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas day
That's the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway

Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright
The sun will shine by day and all the stars at night
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way
To say Merry Christmas to you

Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright
The sun will shine by day and all the stars at night
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way
To say Merry Christmas to you

Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas day
That's the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway

Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright
The sun will shine by day and all the stars at night
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way

To say Merry Christmas
A very Merry Christmas
A very, very, Merry,Merry Christmas to you!!

Hau'oli La Ho'omakika'i

Hau'oli La Ho'omakika'i

That's Happy Thanksgiving in Hawaiian.

If you'd like to know how to pronounce it, try this:

how-oh-lay la ho-o-ma-key-kah-ee

Hope everyone has (or had) a wonderful day with family and friends, eating, sharing, and making wonderful memories.

What are you thankful for? I am most thankful for God's hand in my life and the lives of my family. We As always, we are thankful for our many blessings this year!

May God bless you today and every day.

Aloha, and Mahalo for visiting!

Pau Hana!

Pau Hana is how the Hawaiians say they are finished working.

I wanted all my faithful readers to know that I am kind of "Pau Hana." I have decided to take a break from my blog for a while and work on some other things I need to complete--writing and family things.

I will post once in a while to give you updates or a special message, and will let you know when I decide to return to regular blog posts.

Please e-mail me whenever you want! I'd love to keep in touch and know what you all are up to.

For now, it's Pau Hana for me!

Aloha, and Mahalo for visiting!

Comic Con!!!

This week I'm leaving Hawaii for a trip to Rose City Comic Con.

My son, Shane, is a comic book artist and author. He had a booth at the RCCC where he gave away a 10-page sample comic in order to connect with people.

He and his friend, Spyros, had a fabulous time! They gave away almost 1,000 copies of Float. A number of people asked for his autograph!

The encouraging comments were amazing--Shane is so excited to continue the journey and finish up the final 10 pages which he will post on his website/blog along with the first 10 pages in the sample.

Enjoy a few pictures from the event, and don't forget to visit
Shane's site and read the first 10 pages of Float:

Y is For Yaaaaaay!

Vlado/FreeDigitalPhotos.net

You’ll hear Kimo screaming Yaaaaaaaay! a lot! He gets totally excited about everything the kids discover during their mystery-solving journeys.

Can’t you just picture him bopping around screaming Yaaaaaay!?? Leilani sometimes wishes she were ten years old again because being 13 meant too much responsibility and more maturity than she often times wants to show. I know I still experience those moments when I want to throw off all things sensible and just run around in circle screaming like a little kid—do you?

Hmm . . . maybe that’s why I write for 8 to 12 year olds! Yup—it’s my chance to bop around and scream Yaaaaaaaay!

I hope to see you again next Thursday for the final letter of the alphabet, giving you the last of the little snippets of words from Pineapples in Peril, Menehunes Missing and Ukuleles Undercover (Books 1, 2 and 3 of The Hawaiian Island Detective Club.) It’s the ABCs OF THE HIDC!
