I'm a Finalist!!!

Menehunes Missing is a Finalist!!

Last year Pineapples in Peril was a finalist in the Cascade Writing Contest, but didn't win. This year Book Two of The Hawaiian Island Detective Club, Menehunes Missing, is a finalist. I'll know if it wins on Wednesday next week, so will let my readers know on Thursday if it wins.

Win or not, I'm so honored to have been chosen as a finalist twice! I won't be able to enter Ukuleles Undercover (Book Three) next year because of the publishing date, but hope to have more published books in the future that I can enter!

Thanks to all of my blog readers who have read, purchased and/or given my books to family and friends.

Flip-Flops at a Wedding???

Usually the bride wears flip-flops at her wedding reception so her feet won't be killing her by the end of the evening.

But what about wearing flip-flops as a guest at the wedding as well as the reception??

My family is attending a wedding later this summer and I'm wearing my newest flip-flop purchase. Aren't they cute??

My Fun & Comfy Wedding Flip-Flops!

Since my feet are so small, I can wear kids' sizes, so these are actually from the kids' department--can you see the "Kids Korner" label?  It used to be hard to find anything but flats in kids' shoes, but I'm seeing a lot more with heels and wedges. These have a cork wedge so they're quite comfortable and give me some height.

As you learned last week, I love pink, so I bought a pink lacy dress and these flip-flops match perfectly. I'm thinking I'll do great at the reception with all the dancing--what do you think?

My Newest Flip-Flops!

I finally bought a couple pair of flip-flops! Some of mine are getting way old and I need to replace them.

Love Pink!!

Black, Pink and Bling--Perfection!!

As you can tell, I gravitate toward the colors, black and pink! And bling--I love bling. Have you noticed?? Several of my pairs have some kind of bling.

I guess I fit right in with Mary Kay, huh? Yup, pink and black are the company's colors and there's often times a lot of bling too.





I also love purple, so maybe my next pair should be purple, or at least have some purple in them somewhere.

What do you think? Any suggestions on the type or color of flip-flops I should buy??

Celebrate!!!

Tomorrow is the day to celebrate our nation's independence with a picnic or bar-b-q and some fireworks.

We live above the Columbia River in the Pacific Northwest. We can't see any fireworks on the river, but the town below has lots of random fireworks that we enjoy every year with our family.

Enjoy and remember our amazing 50th state,
